Vehicle Fire – Concord Road
September 9, 2006

Pictures taken by Kelly Eaton

On September 9, 2006 at 12:48 p.m., Station 71 was alerted for a vehicle fire on Route 20 a half mile west of Route 9. 71 Command responded with Assistant Chief Walls. Upon 71-commands arrival he advised fire was in a mattress in the back of a pick up truck and the fire was believed to be out. Engine 71-9 arrived on scene and were advised to pull the front trash line and do overhaul. Fire appeared to have started from a cigarette being thrown from the window and landed on the mattress while vehicle was in Route to the county dump. The situation was placed under control and all units cleared at 13:19 hours. (Units responded, 71-command, 71-9, and B-71)
